lifetime

(by Nathan Angelo)

rain drops

steady on my window like a ticking clock

closing inward

young love

bear the weight of voices like a beating drum

crashing over

but if we want this to last

well, let’s break off from our past lives

cause

dreamers / light as a feather

free fall / into forever

to last a lifetime / to last a lifetime

somewhere no one can find us

drift off / leave it behind us

to last a lifetime / to last a lifetime long

arrows

wrapped in little packages with tiny bows

cutting deeper

questions

blowin’ through our union like a mighty wind

waking sleepers

but if we want us to last

let’s forsake what drags us backwards

cause

heart and soul

flesh and bones

in your gravity I find my freedom

pulling me so close
